How to Become a Tennis Welcome Center

Requirements:

1. Tennis program must be open to the public with published telephone number available.
    (note: Private clubs are also welcome to participate)


2. A staff person answering phone during business hours or answering machine and message that
    acknowledges your affiliation as a Tennis Welcome Center


3. Facility offers a multi-session tennis program (year-round or seasonal.)
a. Including entry level instruction or program for children or adults.
    Including an organized play program designed to transition new players into “tennis players”. i.e. can be
    any type of play – Supervised play, Clinic & Play, Ladders, Social Mixers, Team Tennis, Leagues, USTA
    leagues, etc.


4. Display Tennis Welcome Center banner or door decal

5. Have at least 1 certified Tennis Professional or trained coach on staff

6. Be willing to support and participate in local marketing initiatives

7. Participate in TWC measurement communications and requests for program information updates.
    (Each response earns additional entry into US Open prize drawing)


Additional Suggestions for Tennis Welcome Centers:

1. No charge trial racquets for new players
2. Offers trial lessons ... Free "taste" of tennis
3. Organized social experiences outside of instruction
4. Offer regular follow-up programs and organized team competitions such as league play, team tennis etc.
5. Groups not larger than 8 for adults (pro/student ratio)
6. Promotion of the health benefits of tennis
